Our Dorset Campsite is perfectly positioned for family days out, with not just many national and international attractions close by but also the beaches of south Dorset.

Some of the most popular attractions that are approx 30 minutes away include:

  • Longleat Safari Park
  • Stone Henge
  • Haynes Motor Museum
  • The Fleet Air Arm Museum

Duncliffe Woodmanaged by the woodland trust is just above us and is well known for its spectacular display of bluebells in April and May.

There are a number of local walks and cycle routes including the wessex ridge way cycle route which is lovely and flat as it is built on an old railway line! The local tourism association publishes a booklet of walks and cycle routes which is available in our shop for £1.

Shaftesbury is famous for the Hovis bread advert that was filmed here on Gold Hill. There are also nice tea rooms and pubs full of local flavour as well as take-aways that will deliver to the campsite and some fine dining restaurants. We also have a wonderful abbey ruin which comes to life with their walking audio tour.

Sherborne is another quintessentially English country town with an Abbey and Castle.

Salisbury in Wiltshire, is an international attraction famed for its medieval Cathedral
